Let it Snow | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!
I am sitting in my scrapbook room freezing! It's 18F with a winter storm warning for the east coast of Canada. Wanna know what I like best about winter ? Seeing someone playing in the snow!
This picture is of my cousin enjoying some time outside on a snow day! So much fun was had just jumping around, making snowmen, and throwing snow balls! I love watching kids enjoy the beauty of winter.

I used the gorgeous winter collection from Simple Stories called Freezin' Season. It is filled with beautiful colors such as blues and pinks that make white snow look so lovely!
I wanted to add some fun to my page so I used the chipboard with the Bits and Pieces diecuts.
I rarely put pictures on my page sideways but I wanted to try something different.
I added tons of layers with dimensional adhesive and lots of fun colors.

I did something different with my title on this page. I used the Let It Snow diecuts and placed them on a pink piece of paper. That gave my title some 3D effect. I really like  the look of it.

I placed some small stickers and enamel dots around my embellishments to add some " snowy " details.  Using the multi colors trees and houses on tis page really added some fun to a wintry page!

You Are Paw-some! | Your Next Stamp

I am sharing another card I created with the November release from Your Next Stamp. I used the stamp set called Meowy Christmas! No Worries Dog lovers - YNS has a dog set as well called Payliday Pups!

I created my background with some Distress Oxide, used a diecut called Snowy Mountains Edge Die Set and Double Pierced Hills Die Set. I find both of these sets together create a great dimensional background. My little cat has a snowboard and on the back it says YO!

I colored my design with my zig markers and really like the background. I could have shaded a bit better with my coloring but It's still cute!

I used the Christmas Tree Die Set to create my dimensional tree and an image of a cute mouse with gifts. I added some bricks in the background using and old stencil and some distress oxide for color. Halloween | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!
I am sharing a layout today using the Happy Halloween Collection from Simple Stories. It is a Simple Set which means it contains 6 sheets of a paper and a 6x12 sticker sheet. These kits are perfect for layout classes and creating 2 page layouts as well!

I used this kit to create a page of my cousin's daughter dressed up for trick or treating a few years ago. I love the colors and patterns in this kit and they just work perfectly with my pic too! Halloween is such a fun time of year. I love scrapbooking fun faces and spooky places ;)

With this layout I wanted a fun title but not black or simple.
I really liked the 4x6 element card and wanted to use the word "Halloween"for my page title.

I did some fussy cutting and added dimensional adhesive to the back of the letters and created a fun title. These are easy to do and with a little patience you can create your own! We have several possibilities with this sheet of paper with title that could include October 31 / Trick or Trick / Boo / and more!

Here are a few more pictures of my layout.

Hopefully you'll find some inspiration on my layout
and create your own fun title using our element cards!

Fall Memories | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!
I am sharing a layout using the gorgeous fall collection from Simple Stories called Forever Fall.   I wanted to showcase the papers from this kit and of course the assortment of colors.  The photo is of my niece and a back to school picture. It was perfect for this collection of pinks, blues, and of course the burgundy flowers.
I used a patterned paper for my background instead of a piece of white cardstock. Creating a few layers using strips is a great way to add details and the ability to use more than one piece of paper.

I did some sewing on the FALL chipboard banner. This helps them stay in place but also adds some texture to the page. The scalloped strip is from the sticker sheet.

Adding some extra touches to the Fall banner are stickers and also chipboard pieces surrounding the picture.  I placed dimensional adhesive on the photo and some of the embellishments.

This layout is super simple and can easily be duplicated. Once you get your Forever Fall collection try a scraplift of this layout. If you do please share it with me! @KristineDavidson. Also please visit @SimpleStories_ on social media for behind the scenes, design team projects and so much more!

Enjoy those fall days!

NEW CRAFT BOOK TEACHES KIDS AND ADULTS THAT ART SUPPLIES ARE ALL AROUND US – JUST ADD IMAGINATION!

As fall approaches, Author and artist Eli Maor knows the best way to keep kids and parents
happy is crafting – and it doesn’t have to get too fancy to be fun! Maor, a “crafting minimalist,”
specializes in using what is all around us to create beautiful, fun crafts and DIY projects. With a
passion for recycling, upcycling, and just using what you have on hand, Maor creates gorgeous and
fun projects from common household objects like toilet paper rolls, fabric scraps, even sticks and
twigs from the back yard.
“If you scan the space which you are sitting at right now, you will find you are surrounded by
numerous objects you don’t use very often,” Maor says. “Those objects can easily be turned into a
fun project. There is beauty in appreciating reused items and seeing everything - old and new alike –
as art.”
Maor is sharing some of her favorite projects in her new book, The Craft Kingdom: DIY
Craft Projects for Kids and Adults.
