2015 | A New Journey

I can honestly say that I'm more than happy 2014 is done today. It wasn't the best year of my life - but for sure it was a memorable year, one of lessons, of crying for hours, of learning to love myself first, of growing older, of asking for help when i needed it, of knowing that i'm not alone and being happy is important.

I know everyone has struggles, some more than others. I have watched someone I love fall apart this year - mentally and physically. I know that things happen for a reason, sometimes good and sometimes just so we can grow from their experiences.

Today December 30th, after almost 2 years of " hell " i can say that things are now much more positive and moving towards new beginnings and a new life.
My husband and I have selected our " One Little Word " for 2015 and it's quite fitting.

We are starting a new journey together - so far the past 30 days have been wonderful and I'm looking forward to more of those days with him.  I've just purchased a bracelet for myself which is fitting --  from Ashley Bridget  I'll wear this as a reminder of what was and what is ahead.

Have you selected your OLW for 2015? Ali Edwards is such as inspiration - if you'd like to know more about her One Little Word project CLICK HERE.

Wishing YOU a wonderful 2015

Tic Toc | Jillibean Soup

I really love these new Mix the Media pieces from Jillibean Soup. Although I'll admit that I am terrified to use them and mess them up! I used the 8x8 Wood Plank and some Martha Stewart Acrylic Paint and created a clock. I was going to put numbers but decided I liked this plain look instead. It's blue turquoise IRL and I have it hanging in my Scraproom.

Supplies used:

Jillibean Soup
8x8 Wood Plank - Mix the Media
other: Martha Stewart Paint, Art Minds Clock Kit

DIY Christmas Wreath | Simple Stories

Sharing a fun project with you today. A beautifully decorate wreath created with paper!  So easy to create and you'll love doing this with your kids or grandkids or by yourself with some hot cocoa and Christmas music in the background!

I will admit this wasn't my idea - I did get this from Pinterest and if you'd like to see the original post CLICK HERE.

I always love creating fun projects during the holidays. This year is no exception.
- Here are the instructions and I would LOVE to see what you create!

I used a 10" Foam Wreath for this project.
(Found at your local craft store)

6 sheets of 12x12 patterned paper (you could use more if you want a fuller wreath)
Cut strips of paper into 1/2″ X 12″
Curl each individual strip of paper with a bone folder

Pin the curled paper to the foam wreath

Add a bow or extra decorations such as balls, tags, candy canes etc!
I did spray mine with Therm-O-Web Glitter Spray.

I hope you enjoyed my project today and perhaps you'll give this a try!

Guest Designer | The Cut Shoppe

I was excited when Ashley Horton from The Cut Shoppe asked me to be a guest designer for her this month. I adore her background files and couldn't wait to create with this awesome file called "Right On Target". These backgrounds are great for using scraps and adding tons of color to a page. I used some of the new Simple Stories - Life Documented Collection and LOVE all those bright colors.
I also used the 'Days of the Week' cut files and used Tuesday cause I loved the look of it. My title really doesn't make any sense as it's called Tuesday & Today. It could have been called Just Say Cheese or Smile, but I liked the look of this better LOL!
