Life Documented (May 2012) | Simple Stories

I'm here today with a Life Documented post using the NEW DIY and DIY Boutique Collections from Simple Stories, and today I'm sharing the month of MAY 2012.

 I used the 6x8" album but included different pocket pages. You'll see in this post that with so many varieties of the 6x8 pocket pages you can mix and match to create a uniform album for your LIFE Documented projects.

Page 3 includes 2 4x4" pockets and 4 2x2" pockets. I thought this was perfect to add 2 large photos and a few small ones on the sides.

  Once I started decorating this page I realized I wanted to add more but didn't want to add another page so instead, I added a 4x4" Photo Flip. You can add these in different ways but I adhered mine to the left of the pocket page. This allows a great Flip to view journaling and another photo.  I love this format, it's like a little secret pocket!

I added a confetti pocket to the next page, they add such fun details to a spread and you can add anything you like. In my Mini Confetti pocket I added some enamel dots, stickers, word phrases, and some small punched out pieces of patterned paper.  

My technique for creating this pocket is simple : you can add your items and sew them to the page protector or you can make a small sized pocket with the items, sew them together and then add them to your pocket.   

As you flip the page, I again used a monthly calendar showing the days of the month and a few pictures of what happened that day. Some aren't exact dates but I'm ok with that.

This following page is OH HAPPY DAY, a Simple Stories Silhouette Cut File. I added pop dots under the die cut to add a bit of dimension.

The last page for May 2012 has a few photos and journaling about misc days in the month.

I am using the 6x8 Sn@p! Leather Album in black for all of my Life Documented pages for 2012. It's sturdiness, metal corner accents, and stitch details are fantastic and durable. The album will be handled often so durability is a must - this Sn@p! album is so far the best I've been using.

I used a variety of inserts for this monthly spread - a 6x8" size featuring 2x2" to 4x6 and also a full 6x8. The Sn@p pocket pages come in a variety that you can add to your album. PERFECTO!

I love that my niece lets me download pictures of herself from her facebook page. She's such a beauty at 16 years old. I swear she could be a model if she had the opportunity ;-)

It's time for a new Paper Camellia Sketch Challenge!
Have you been enjoying the previous sketches? Getting some inspiration from our designers?

This is the April Sketch, created with a bit of simplicity and straight lines.
I love blocks lately and this sketch is no exception.

I used a photo of my friends and I at a crop last October. It was a great time - we laughed, cried and had so many great stories to share. The title i selected for this layout is exactly that... REMEMBER, LAUGH.
the Laugh was cut out from the Chickaniddy Gold foil papers and my silhouette die cut machine.

Going Places | Paper Camellia

Hello Friends!

It's April 1st today! Were you fooled today? I actually pulled a little one and told my coworkers we were going to get some sunshine tomorrow and 14degrees! LOL.. That's funny ;-/ ( NOT! ) I'm over winter, tired of this snow and well I created this mini album of my trip to California - were it was sunny and over 14degrees!

This was created using the Paper Camellia April Kit and Add On Kit.

It was a great weekend in California and I wanted to document some of those fun memories I had with some friends . We took a tour from Anaheim to Hollywood and it was so much fun. We got to see so many great sites, and visited some iconic locations as well. The Holly wood sign, Chinese Theatre, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive and So Much more.

My Little Dude | Creative Scrappers

Good Day friends,

It's reveal day at Creative Scrappers for sketch 265 and I'd like to share my layout with you.

A few weeks ago my sister and her kids came for a visit. Of course I took the opportunity to get a few new pictures. Once I saw my nephew wearing a green and blue sweater I knew it was the perfect time to get a photo of him so i could use some Simple Stories - A Charmed Life. 
My Husband had a pair of sunglasses and I asked him to remove the lenses - A fun photo prop for some kids NOT wanting to take pics!

This layout is called My Lucky Dude!

 

 This is the sketch for the CS reveal and Hopefully you can play!

So Loved | Scrapbook & Cards Today

I'm sharing a layout All About Cars today at Scrapbook & Cards,  I created using some the NEW Simple Stories Sn@p Set - Cats.

Sadly, our 13 year old cat passed away in late February and after two weeks of having no furry friend in the house, my husband and I decided it was time to add to our family. We found two little kittens at only 6 weeks old and lovingly added them to our family. We named them Archer and Willow (aka: Archie & Willie) - in my layout today it's all about Archie!

This Sn@p set from Simple Stories is perfect for those cat pages and they also didn't forget about those of you who have Dogs. These sets contain everything you need to create a mini album, project life spread or in my case a layout.

I created my layout by using some 3x3 cards as well as cutting some 3x4 cards into this exact size. I added some stickers on pop dots to create dimensions, and even cut out a few cute paws from a 4x6 card.

  

As you can see, Cards can also be used for your layouts, not just pocket pages!
