Life Documented with Snow Patrol | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!
 I am here to share a Life Documented spread featuring the Simple Stories - Snow Patrol Mini Collection.

 Here are a few details of my left page - I created a layout on one side, and the other side is filled with journaling, filler cards, and photos.

I created this layout with lots of stickers and layers. I love my pop dots and I find creating with them so easy to add dimension to my elements and also create a great visual effect.

Here are a few close up pictures and you'll be able to see what i did to create dimension with the sticker sheet that comes with the collection. I didn't use any extra diecuts or embellishments other than what was in the kit!

This next set of photos is the right side of my spread that features all the other Life Documented extras. I embellished my cards again with the sticker sheets from the kit and a few 3x4 and 4x6 cards cut up from one of the element papers.
So easy!

Here are a few more photos of the inserts;

Creating a Life Documented spread doesn't have to be complicated and you can really do what you like. If you want to do a full spread you can or add a layout and a half of a pocket page. This can also work to your advantage for a multi photo layouts as well!

Life Documented December | Simple Stories

I am here to share a Life Documented spread featuring the Simple Stories Claus & Co. Collection.

I am honestly not much of a December Daily kind of scrapbooker. I feel overwhelmed when I think about it, instead I created this 2 page pocket page spread to showcase my entire month of December. I have space for all my pictures, a few journal cards and I am happy with that. I can always add more page protectors to add tons of pictures of just leave it as is.  It works for me!

This was one of my favorite spreads to create. I was so consumed in decorating, matching, and creating - I had a blast! This Christmas collection is perfect for creating cards, mini albums, layouts, projects and so much more. One of my favorite Christmas collections ever!

I created tons of layers in my spread using pop dots, washi paper tape, and sewing of course !

 You'll see on my spread that I haven't added photos yet. That's because I wanted it left blank so I can add my own when the time comes. I have a few dates added by inserting 3x4" filler cards and I love that!

 Here are a few details of my " left page ";

Adding washi tape and a few stars finished this 3x4" card perfectly. Of course I added sewing for some texture and fun detail. The little enamel dots created great little embellishments for my tree! Cute right?!

I created this next card with the snowman chipboard piece and the "cheers" from the bits and pieces. I added some pop dots under the cheer so I could easily add my 3x2.5" photo when I have it printed.

This next one was a cute filler card but I needed to add more. So I added some washi paper tape, a brad, enamel dots and some word strips. It just worked so well. You can also add this to a card and voila - a Christmas Card is done ;-)

 Here are a few more photos of the inserts;

The next few photos are of the " right side" of my spread;

 I added more cut out pieces and bits and pieces from the collection. I often add 2 - 3x4" cards into a 4x6" pocket insert. It gives me the opportunity to add a full 4x6 card of more of the same 3x4. I like that option. It fits more photos and of course more decorated cards ;-)

- now this next page is a little insert. Yup, I added a December Calendar measuring 6x8" to fit into the middle of my spread. It works well. It's a calendar of the month showcasing important dates and I can add things to do on here as well; such as baking, shopping, visiting, etc ..

On the back of this calendar I added one of my favorite Christmas Songs. You can add a recipe, a large photo such as a pic of your Christmas Tree, the house decorate, a family pic or a Christmas card. So Many options for this little pocket!

 Here is a picture of the 6x8 insert inside my spread.

Isn't that a great idea!?

You can see how much I really enjoyed creating this spread - I will use this to document my December for sure!

Try and create your own little spread to add in your life documented album. Don't feel overwhelmed and pushed to document your entire month of December. Create a spread and add all the small details you 'd like to remember for this holiday season.

I'd like to wish you "Happy Holidays" to you and your families.

Life Documented | Simple Stories

I'm sharing a Life Documented spread for November with a " thankful " theme. I used the Simple Stories collection called Pumpkin Spice. It was perfect for my fall themed layout.

These are photos of my family and taken last season and a picture of my parents with grandkids that was taken this past July. The orange shirt my dad was wearing worked great for this Pumpkin Spice collection! Yes, I love it when a shirt matches the paper I'm using ;-)

I kept the same theme throughout my spread using yellow, pumpkins, a few flowers to decorate my filler pages.

Here is the left side of my spread;

I did't have a lot of pictures that are " fall " themed. I always love to include my cats in the mix cause they are family too right?! A Thanksgiving dinner, and my dad walking in the woods with my niece.
What is something I did differently on this page, can you tell?

Well, I actually added some embellishments ON TOP of my page protectors! Something different for me and I actually enjoyed it. I was able to overlap from one pocket to the next and also add dimensions to my page. It is a great way to add texture as well.

Here is the right side of my spread;

I added a bit more journaling on this right side, nothing planned it just happened that way. I cut the pumpkin from a larger 4x6 journal card and added it to a 4x4 piece of paper to create my own journal card.

this next photo shows the diecuts on top of my page protector.  I added foam dots to make it more dimentional.

as you can see, adding some extra stickers and embellishments adds a bit of interest to a page.

Hope you can give this a try !

We Are ... Family | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!

I'm  happy to share a Life Documented spread about my sister and her family featuring the new collection We Are ... Family.

First I would like to say "YELLOW!" I love this bright yellow that's included in this collection. I really don't use yellow very often in my pages but this color just made me happy!

These are photos of my sister and her children. The picture were taken from this past summer while they were all playing in the backyard.

In this spread I wanted to showcase a Life Documented page but include a layout on the left side. I created a simple layout as to not overwhelm the simpler, colorful side of my pocket page on the right.

I really like this format since it gave me the opportunity to create a layout but also with a pocket page it allowed me to add more photos and extra journaling.

  and here is a close up pictures of the layout details.

I really enjoy creating with pocket pages and I find that sometimes I have too many photos to just put away in a box somewhere or create a few more layouts about this one event.  I added more photos of the day and little extras with embellishments.

As you can see the theme is pretty constant on both pages, lots of yellow, a little bit of red and the pictures are all from the same day.

If you have a family event to document, I would highly recommend trying a pocket page with a layout and don't be afraid to add some color !

A few close up pictures of my pocket page;

Thanks for coming to visit today, and I hope you feel inspired to create and try something new in your Life Documented Album!

Life Documented With Pumpkin Spice | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!

It's Kristine Davidson with you today and I am here to share a Life Documented spread featuring NEW Pumpkin Spice Collection! I had a few pictures from an Apple Picking adventure and this paper collection was perfect for it.

I had quite a few photos from this adventure, but I didn’t want to add too many photos either. I decided to create a layout for the left side of my spread and then add a little pocket page scrapbooking on the right. A great way to create a double page spread perhaps? I am not very good at 2 pagers but this made it really easy.

I added a photos of my nephew on this layout. Showcasing more of a thankful side with no journaling but adding strips of journaling from one of the 4x6 cards. I also wanted to add lots of paper to this page and doing several strips worked well. A great way to use up scraps or use tons of color that match perfectly together.

A simple pocket spread that adds so many extras to an album. Adding lots of photos, extra journaling and even memorabilia. I added more photos on this page and a simple journal card talking about our day apple picking.

Here are a few extra pictures with details.

I love layers. On this corner I first did some sewing around the edge, added a diecut of the tree and then added an apple with 3D foam adhesive to create dimension. Adding extras such as chipboard buttons, bradz and enamel dots just finishes a corner of a page so nicely!

I find working with stickers and diecuts so much fun and easy to layer and create dimension with foam adhesive. I do this on most of my pages. To create more dimension and texture I add sewing and small enamel dots.

I loved this apple and decided to cut it from its original card. I added stickers from the expressions sticker sheet and some twine.

A journal card can be decorated even if it’s for adding details about your day. Add some washi paper tape, a brad or chipboard and your card is embellished.
I hope you enjoyed my Simple Stories Life Documented post today and I hope you have a chance to create with Pumpkin Spice!
