Layer It Up | Your Next Stamp

Hello Friends!
I am back joining the Your Next Stamp Design Team for another challenge this week. It is called a DT Dare which means we are sharing more projects made with the stamps from the February release.

What is our DT Dare this month ... Layer It Up!
This was a fun challenge for me since I use popdots on pretty much everything I create and adding layers is what I do.

Now, head on over to the YNS blog for all the DT Dare details and leave a comment on the DT Dare post on the YNS blog for a chance to win a stamp set of your choice. A comment must be left by February 16th at midnight EST.  The lucky winner will be announced February 18th.

I used the cutest Fire It Up Stamp set to create my card.
I created my background using distress ink
I colored my images using Zig Clean Color Markers
I added a stamped Paint Swooch to mimic a paved road
I added pop dots on my little lady and placed her on top of the firetruck
The firetruck was also placed with popdots
I love the dimensions in this card and of course

Come Join Us on the YNS blog and you could WIN a stamp set!!

So Many super cute stamp sets are being released today. These are all great for birthdays, thank you notes, hello friend and so much more!  The new sets include Fire Up the Fun, Music Chicks, Star Girls and so much more!

My first card is a super cute one I must say. I have no relations with firefighters at all but these are too much fun! I colored these with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and some distress ink for my background.  I added some grey and black ink to resemble pavement and I used a small stamp from the Paint Swooches and Splats for the texture in the pavement. I used the Stitched Grass Die for some grass so I could add my little dog and firewoman in the background. I added the firefighter on the front with popdots for dimension and then my sentiments.
SUPER CUTE!!!

Hello Card | Your Next Stamp

Hello!
I recently created this super cute card using a stamp set from Your Next Stamp called Fur-ever Friends. I love little kitties and this little one was soooooo cute! I wasn't sure what to do with the books at first but I found that masking a few of the books and creating a larger image was perfect. The cat, the boy and the dog are all adhered with Pop Up dots.

I used some distress ink for my background and colored my images with  Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. (Amazon has the best prices!)

The stamp set is from Your Next Stamp and called Fur-ever Friends

Come visit Us at Your Next Stamp this weekend! We have an awesome blog hop and we will be revealing NEW stamps and dies !!! You don't want to miss it ;)

Enjoy the Little Things | Simple Stories

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to take a moment and breathe. Take a few seconds and look around and enjoy those little things that surround us. When someone is laughing we might say they are annoying, or loud, or being really silly ... but in reality those are the sweetest moments aren't they?
OK I Just finished watching THIS IS US and I'm an emotional mess LOL!!!

On that note, This is a layout I created for Simple Stories using the gorgeous collection called BLISS. I am really enjoying this collection because 1 - the black and 2 - the purple! It just seems like a fresh collection for this time of year.
This collection is shipping in stores in the next few weeks so if you see it --- GRAB IT!

February Sketch Challenge | Creative Scrappers

Hello Friends!

It's February I am back to share another NEW sketch with you! I think it's a good one! It has room for tons of embellishments and maybe even up to 7 different pieces of patterned paper. It is February so a few hearts on this layout would be nice ;) I did add some stitching around a few of the embellishments - this can be done before you adhere your photo and before you add your stickers or chipboard pieces. I added a 4"x4" square photo but of course you can add a 4"x6" - or other size to match your scrapbook style. I hope you enjoy this month's sketch and inspired to add it to your TO DO List for February!

I would love to see how you interpret this month's sketch.

Let Your Light Shine | Simple Stories

It is so exciting when new scrapbook products are released. I created this layout using a NEW collection from Simple Stories called BLISS . This collection will be shipping to retailers in February.
It is beautiful! It has a bit of purple, some black, and lots of gorgeous bits and pieces. I was a bit scared of purple but since it's the Pantone Color of the Year ... I have to embrace it ;)

This is one of the layouts I created using this collection and the layout that was displayed at the latest Creativation Show in Pheonix AZ.

Beautiful colors and patterns isn't it ?

You Make My Heart Happy | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!

I'm sharing a simple layout with you today. It was created using the gorgeous collection from Simple Stories called ROMANCE. The picture is from my cousin who recently got married and was nice to let me use her pictures for my scrapbooking pleasure!
I didn't go crazy on this layout with tons of paper or even layers for that matter. I saw this brick background and immediately fell in love with it. It's perfect!

Here is my layout called You Make My Heart Happy.

In order to get a few details on my page I used the outline of the heart as a focus and sewed around the edge to give the heart some definition. I added some white ink splats as well as green and red. The paint just adds a bit of texture to my page as well. I didn't use any other paper but I did add some bits & pieces and used the sticker as my title again.
You must see a trend in my page titles!? I usually don't overthink my titles. If a sticker or diecut jumps at me then that's what I use! No Stress!

I really love this page and could see this in a frame ;)
Thanks for visiting us at Simple Stories today, if you enjoyed my layout please come find me on instagram @KristineDavidson

Have a great day!

Party Pets - Stamping

I've had these cards in my (gotta blog) folder on my computer and decided I should post them ;) These are all created with stamps from Your Next Stamp.
The backgrounds were done with Distress Ink - using a blending tool.

The Stamp Set I used for all of these is the Party Pet Collection. I did fussy cut all of the animals so some might be a bit wonkie.. but that's okay!

Aren't they the cutest!!!
You can purchase these at the Your Next Stamp Online store or in person at My Stamping Studio in Nova Scotia.

I was intimidated with Stamping.. ask anyone that has sat next to me during a crop and I don't think I've ever had a stamp at my station. I was terrified. I made mistakes, it wasn't stamped properly .. it was a total mess!
I discovered the MISTI tool and since then I've never looked back!
Watching You Tube videos also helped me in learning techniques and although I am not using COPICS yet ( I tried ) I really enjoy coloring with my Zig Markers.

Happy Birthday Shaker Card

These little Party Pets from Your Next Stamp are my favorite. They are so easy to color when stamped and really not that difficult to fussy cut when finished. (Although, I'd save tons of time with a metal die!)

I created this as a birthday card and used the Jillibean Soup Large Circle Shaker Card base and cover.

Instead of using distress ink all over the front cover or adding paper I used some paint splats. (Glimmer Glaze) It works great and adds a little confetti like cover.

I used my Zig Clean Color Brush Markers for coloring and added some beads at the bottom. Super cute !

Our Love Story | Simple Stories

Hello Friends!

I'm sharing a layout I created using the latest Romance Collection from Simple Stories. I must admit that I do love white backgrounds but on occasion a little black with a punch of color just makes me happy!

This is a layout called Our Love Story and it is of my cousin who recently got married last July.

I love adding little bits of details to a page and the mini hearts from the 4x6 sticker pack has tons of little extras to add to a layout.

Adding a few Bits & Pieces is always something I enjoy and lots of dimension to a layout with some pop dots is a must.

I didn't add a prominent title to my page, instead I used one of the stickers and used that as my title. I find the butterflies and the 'love' chipboard add so many great details to this page. I had to add a little bow with black twine to make it complete!
